Book Jacket  (top)
Tupac: Resurrection
I created this book jacket for an assignment in my Designing Documents for Print course. I gathered images of Shakur from the Internet, manipulated them in Adobe Photoshop, and created the overall layout design in Adobe InDesign. The black cover and white back cover design reflects the book’s mission to change its readers’ opinion of Shakur as a person and artist.

Brochures  (top)
Employer brochure for the Tech English Department Internship Program
I worked with a group of students to design this tri-fold brochure for Tech’s English Department, which wanted a brochure to send to prospective employers of English Interns. I took and manipulated the photographs in this brochure.

Student brochure for the Tech English Department Internship Program
I worked with a group of English students to create this tri-fold brochure informing Tech students about the English Department Internship Program. The design is, well, unconventional…

Instruction Set  (top)
Creating a Sunflair Graphic
This is a portion of an instruction set I made for an assignment in my first professional writing course. I created the whole thing with Microsoft Word before I knew Adobe InDesign. To get a better idea of my design decisions, read the coverletter I submitted with the set for the Dedman Prize.

Poster  (top)
Personal interest poster
This was my first design project in the Professional Writing Program at Tech. The poster focuses mainly on the four principles of design: contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity. Acronyms abound.

Professional Proposal  (top)
Professional writing magazine
This is proposal to Tech’s English Department for a professional writing magazine. Like the above instruction set, I created this document before I knew Adobe InDesign. The design is bland, but I think my writing makes this document usable and persuasive.

Usability  (top)
Web usability Testing
Here is a small-scale usability test I conducted for this Web site. With it I tested how easily users could navigate through my site. I also prepared a report on the results. Larger tests and reports like these can significantly improve a Web site's usability.

Web Writing  (top)
ATF 2005 Snapshot
One of our writing exercises for Writing and Designing for the World Wide Web was to reduce a public document to 10–15% of its original length using Web writing techniques. I edited AFT's 2005 Snapshot, which I found on their Web site. Note that this is not an "editing" exercise. I just made the document more readable online.
