- Expanded Violent Crime Impact Teams (VCIT) to 25 U.S. cities
- Expanded Certified Fire Investigator Program to 83 special-agent fire investigators
- Expanded post-blast analysis teams to 327 explosive specialists based 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, Mexico, and Columbia
- Completed eTrace, the National Tracing Center’s first Internet-based crime gun-tracing system
ATF Resources
- The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network provides nationwide installation and networking of automated ballistic-imaging equipment to ~230 sites in the U.S. (including Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands)
- The Bomb and Arson Tracking System allows law enforcement agencies to share information about bomb and arson incidents
- The Arson and Explosives National Repository is the country’s most comprehensive arson and explosives incident database
- Four National Response Teams can be deployed to anywhere in the U.S. within twenty-four hours; one International Response Team cooperates with the Department of State
- Ninety-eight Explosives Detection Canines work within the U.S.; nearly five hundred work internationally
- Three National Laboratory Centers (NIC) assist local and state law enforcement; the NIC in Maryland houses the worlds largest fire research laboratory
